Game of Thrones is perhaps the most interesting show on television today. Apart from the sex, violence and dragons, the show also has a massive fan following. Now, a latest report has emerged that sees fans being a little upset about one of the character’s death.
The matter does not end there as one of the leading stars of the show has defended her character that was involved in the killing.
Game of Thrones season 7 finale saw Aidan Gillen’s character Petyr Littlefinger Baelish getting killed at the hands of Arya Stark. He was charged with treason by Sophie Turner’s character Sansa Stark and no matter how much he pleaded for a trial, all he got was death.
His gruesome death did not go down well with fans that were visibly upset. Some even took to Twitter and expressed their displeasure. Surprisingly, Turner herself decided to respond to Littlefinger’s death and even defended her character.
Heroic Hollywood reported the tweets that were made about how brutal Gillen’s character’s death was in the season finale. One Twitter user Hanna Loren stated that Littlefinger just wanted justice for the humiliation he had to face and he never hurt Sansa.
To this Turner sarcastically responded that he just willingly sell her character to the Boltons, who ended up killing her family and torturing her. A second tweet stated that Littlefinger saved Sansa and Jon, gave back Winterfell to the Starks, killed Joffrey and even won the Battle of Bastards.
Turner had a reply for that too. She stated that he did all of that because her character asked him to do that and because he owed her for selling her to the Boltons.
During his tenure on the show, there were some moments when Littlefinger was responsible for some really horrible things. He killed his own wife Lysa, framed Tyrion Lannister, tricked Sansa into marrying Ramsay Bolton who tortured her and betrayed Ned Stark amongst others.
Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama that centers on several royal families who desire to seek control of the Iron Throne in order to control Westeros. Amongst the battle between these families, there lies an evil force beyond the wall in the North.
Game of Thrones has been renewed for an eighth season but a premiere date has not been announced yet.
