Emma (Lizze Broadway) just can’t seem to catch a break in Gen V episode 3 but neither can the rest of Godolkin’s finest Supes as the dramatic turn of events slowly pulls them together as an ensemble of sorts to confront the harsh truth that lies below their campus. Even so, the elevating stakes still leave room for gore, sex and drama that The Boys fans have grown fond of. The third episode does not shy away from featuring more sexual encounters like the bi-gendered Supe, Jordan Li’s (London Thor) erotic scene with Tyler (Siddharth Sharma). Here’s a recap of the best moments according to fans on social media.

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Gen V episode 3

Not all sex sequences deserve to be as disturbing as Little Cricket’s encounter in Gen V episode 1. Thankfully, episode 3 contains a raunchy scene between London Thor’s Jordan Li and Tyler. Sadly, the steamy NSFW scene is quickly interrupted by Jordan’s parents – forcing them to swap back to their male version played by Derek Luh. To add some more spice, Andre and Cate also hook up but viewers don’t get to see the explicit instances of their intimacy.

With the erotic elements out of the way, let’s address the elephant in the room. Gen V episode 3 shines a light on the overbearing burden spewed upon Jordan Li, Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Emma, Andre (Chance Perdomo) and Cate (Maddie Phillips) from their parental figures & it’s not gone unnoticed by viewers either. But on the bright side, the young supes bond over their shared trauma, particularly Cate Dunlap’s backstory aligns with the hardship Marie underwent after accidentally killing her parents.

Unfortunately, Cate appears to know more than she’s letting on. Gen V episode 3 begins with a brief flashback of Luke and Cate Dunlap visiting Sam in a facility much like the Woods. The side-effects of Compound V plague Sam with psychological issues blurring the boundaries of fantasy and reality.

The comforting prospect of Sam is arguably his Hulk-like strength which puts him in the same league as Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). Though not without bearing weaknesses too, like electrocution appears to incapacitate him to a certain point. Moreover, It’s wholesome to see Sam bond with Emma/Little Cricket after watching her face the brunt of Godolkin U. If there’s one character Gen V fans wouldn’t hesitate to see axed from the series, it’s certainly Justine.

Interestingly, while Jordan Li and Marie’s relationship set out as potential rivals, the outcome of Gen V episode 3 has fans shipping the two characters. Moreover, a scene from the trailer teases a potential intimate encounter between Jordan Li and Marie.

While on the topic of shipping, the chemistry between Cate & Andre, Emma & Sam has Gen V shipping them as potential couples as well. Though considering the shocking twists The Boys has delivered so far, some folks are keeping their expectations tapered.

The subversion of the “popular bully” tropes has received the most praise so far. Gen V episode 3 initially portrays Luke a.k.a Golden Boy & Cate as characters who’d be a hurdle to the protagonist but only to surprisingly turn them into the most likable, especially Cate.

The best part of Gen V episode 3 is the character growth moments, for instance – Emma growing out of her mother’s toxic hold and finding comfort in her friendship with Marie. Although Justin Li faces more struggle since Brink’s demise, they also find a new potential bond in Marie.

While Marie seems like she gains more than what she bargained for after landing a spot in the top 10, it is evidently clear Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn) is manipulating the Freshman with the power dynamic she holds over Marie. In fact, it soon revealed that the Godolkin Dean was parading around with Marie to only help her secure donations which were “going down the toilet” after the Golden Boy incident.

It’s clear that none of the fans’ favorite Supe are safe from Godolkin’s dark secrets that lie below the campus floor and the Gen V episode 3 inches closer to uncovering the truth behind The Woods. Unfortunately, even legacy “superheroes” like Andre’s father Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas) may not be able to help them.

The bigger question among fans is Little Circket’s fate after witnessing her gruesomely kill one of the agents in her microscopic form. Can Sam manage to escape the facility with her? You can find out the answer when Gen V episode 4 airs on Friday, October 6 on Prime Video.
