It was recently announced that Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of the highly anticipated giant monster film, Godzilla 2. Titled, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which was initially scheduled to release on March 22, 2019, will now be rolled out on May 31, 2019.
While the film is still almost a year away from release, some fans those who attended the 2018 Licensing Expo got a chance to see a special promo reel for Godzilla: King of the Monster courtesy Toho Company which had a booth at the event. Although the clip in question doesn’t offer new footage from the film, it did highlight a few points.
The Godzilla 2 promo clip starts with detailing some info about the 2014 Godzilla film’s earning figures. The film earned more than $200 million domestically during its run. It raked in around $530 million at the global box office in total over its lifetime. In fact, in the year of its release, Godzilla edged out some other popular films like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Interstellar and 22 Jump Street to become the 13th highest-grossing film domestically.
Fortunately, fans also got a glimpse of the famous opponents who Godzilla will fight in the upcoming sequel film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The list includes the names of iconic creatures like Mothra, Rodan, and most notably Godzilla’s ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. So, at the end of the Legendary Entertainment Monsterverse film, fans will finally know who the ‘King of the Monsters’ is. You can check out the clip below.

In more monster verse news, earlier in May, the working title for the next installment titled, Godzilla vs. Kong was also revealed. it looks like the project is closing in on its production date.
