Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ upcoming Godzilla: King of Monsters has the kaiju fanbase hyped up with its latest trailer. The sequel to the 2014’s Godzilla reboot seems to be slowly ramping up its promotions as its set to hit theatres next year in May.
Now, Warner Bros. has provided PursueNews with a new still of Godzilla from the upcoming film. The mighty Kaiju looks triumphant and seems to be moments away from unleashing his atomic breath. You can check out the still below.
Earlier last week, Director Mike Dougherty also shared the official character posters for Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan. All posters were released by the director on Twitter with quotes from the book of Revelations for the Kaijus which are referred to as Titans in the movie. Each titan in the poster also seem to have their own elemental nature from the of their color pattern.
The story in Godzilla: King of Monsters follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Dougherty directed the movie from a script penned by Zach Shields and stars Vera Farmiga and Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins, both reprising their “Godzilla” roles. Millie Bobby Brown will be making her feature film debut.
The movie also stars Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi.
In more news on Monsterverse, the next installment titled Godzilla vs. Kong is already in production. Just recently, Just Jared shared stills of Millie Bobby Brown filming in Honolulu, Hawaii with her co-star Julian Dennison who readers would remember from his role in Deadpool 2.
Godzilla: King Of Monsters will hit theatres on May 31, 2019. And on May 22, 2020, the studio will be releasing Godzilla vs. Kong.
