GOTG Vol. 3 fans react with hilarious memes to High Evolutionary’s beatdown by Guardians, stans feel Chukwudi Iwuji’s villain could takeover for Kang & more

Going by audiences’ reaction to GOTG Vol. 3, Chukwudi Iwuji‘s High Evolutionary easily takes home the award for being the most hated MCU villain – a testament to James Gunn’s writing. Since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s release on May 5, fans have been sharing their initial thoughts on social media and one particular moment that’s received the strongest reaction appears to be the climatic beatdown of the High Evolutionary in the hands of Rocket, Nebula (Karen Gillan), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Drax (Dave Bautista).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has Marvel fans flocking to theaters with the threequel already raking in a $300 million global earning as of Monday, Deadline reports. It’s a clear sign the final film of the franchise has appealed to its audience base though not without triggering a reaction.

Scenes featuring High Evolutionary’s cruel treatment of Rocket and his friends, Lyla, Teef and floor were very provoking but many fans later relished High Evolutionary being beaten to the ground by the Guardians. Some were also satisfied to know the big-bad’s face was left severely disfigured because of Rocket. The Below tweets are some of the fans’ best meme reactions to the GOTG Vol. 3 villain’s beatdown.

The High Evolutionary’s infamous status has some campaigning for his character to replace Kang due to the uncertainty surrounding Jonathan Majors‘ return. While Marvel Studios is unlikely to go ahead with such an unprecedented pivot (Never Say Never) – it’s interesting to notice the growing hatred for Iwuji’s villain. Some even relate to Peter Quill’s character when he was visibly enraged after witnessing the early experiments Rocket went through.

The unhinged performance by Iwuji when he viciously mocks Rocket for crying after watching Lyla die is another moment etched into the audience’s memory. In comparison to Kang’s wrath in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – High Evolutionary is more menacing and hateable which are suited traits for a supervillain. Moreover, watching a villain who is touted to be a bigger threat than Thanos get defeated by an Ant army has not sat well with some MCU folks.

Considering the motivations of High Evolutionary, it would be above the character’s motives to conquer the multiverse like Kang wishes to. In addition, like it or not, Kang is Phase 6’s main threat and will apparently have a prevalent appearance in the upcoming Loki season 2 as well.

Only James Gunn could answer the fate of the Guardians 3’s big bad and the director has not addressed it as of this writing and rightly so since the threequel is barely in its second week of theater run. So What did you think of the ending? let us know in the comments below.
