Earlier on Sunday, James Gunn answered some of the questions from his fans regarding the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. One follower asked an intriguing question which we all have been waiting to find out. When does the sequel take place in Marvel Cinematic Universe?
“Two months [after the events that unfolded in the original movie]”, wrote Gunn. Fans can check out his tweet below.
This, in turn, explains Groot’s current form in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well. Since the character was sacrificed and revived as a sapling- his growth corresponds with the timeline.
Gunn has also confirmed that that the infinity stones won’t be involved in the movie. The timeline of the movie could be one of the reasons why the sequel won’t interfere with upcoming events from Infinity War.
In other news, Gunn has shared a new GOTG Pic of the day on Instagram. The director is caught in the middle of the discussion and seems to be tutoring Chris Sullivan as Taser face.
The director also shared another GOTG Pic of the day on his official Facebook page. The photo gives us Yondu and Rocket Racoon inside a room along with a couple of guards knocked out on the floor. Fans can check out the pictures below.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 releases on May 5th. A report from Deadline has already revealed that fill could start off with $150Million at Box office on the opening weekend. Fans that missed the recent TV spot featuring Baby Groot can watch it below.

#GotGPicoftheDay Showing the camera crew what Rocket's gonna do. This was the closest thing I could find to an Easter greeting since my finger guns look a bit like bunny ears. But Happy Easter everyone!
