Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn weighs in on if Captain America slept with Star-Lord’s grandmother

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn weighs in on if Captain America slept with Star-Lord’s grandmother

Director James Gunn has offered his thoughts on She-Hulk episode 1 possibly hinting Captain America lost his virginity to Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) grandmother. The debut chapter finally confirmed Steve Rogers lost his virgin status during the USO tour in 1943. Since the big reveal, the discussion has been a topic of great interest among fans, especially since the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director went along with fans’ theory.

America’s ass did not depart the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a virgin but his partner of choice may raise more theories. The 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger showed Steve meet a woman during his live-entertainment performances as the Star-Spangled Man, before the army saw his true potential. The shot is brief and Laura Haddock appears as a side character called the autograph seeker. Surprisingly, the actor also portrayed Meredith Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Gunn had earlier clarified Haddock’s character in the first Captain America movie was “Quill’s grandma” though to the director’s defense, he followed that up with “I just made this up.” But his response came back to bite after She-Hulk episode 1 had fans insisting Captain America and Meredith Quill’s mother had a fling and some suggesting it could be Meredith’s grandmother. However, one fan pointed out her age would be significantly older to which Gunn replied saying:

“True. In that case laura’s character who met cap in 1943 would be way too young. Meredith Quill was born in late 50’s/early 60’s.” Another social media user quizzed if it could be “a great aunt maybe?” and Gunn tweeted, “Sure why not”. Readers can check it out below.

Some Marvel fans were disappointed Peggy wasn’t his first choice. But the larger fanbase hopes to see Chris Evans’s Captain America variant and Star-Lord have a fun interaction over the topic in Avengers: Secret Wars.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiere episode was largely centered on Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Jen Walters’ (Tatiana Maslany) family dynamic. But even prior to Jennifer’s rite of passage freak accident that made her into a superhero, the Attorney at Law had a keen interest in the Avengers’ past, particularly in Steve Rogers’ sex life. The end-credits scene of Jen screaming in excitement, “CAPTAIN AMERICA FUUU” is trending on Twitter, which says a lot about the interconnectivity of the Disney Plus series with past MCU events. In fact, Evans also responded to the big reveal, prompting Ruffalo’s apology for sharing his secret.
