It looks like there might be a slim chance that director James Gunn is planning on introducing Mark Hamill into the MCU with his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Yes, you heard it right and we aren’t exaggerating.
Just recently, Director Gunn revealed in a tweet that he has met with Hamill for a cup of coffee and it seemed to have been quite the day for both. But there’s more to the tweet then some fans may know.
Earlier in February, it came to fans’ notice that the Star Wars veteran Mark Hamill “would be happy” to play a role in Marvel’s post phase 3 movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. What started with a fan asking the director on Twitter to include the Star Wars actor eventually ended up with Gunn and Hamill deciding to “talk about it over a cup of coffee.”
Since then, none had heard anything about its progress since the threequel project is still in pre-production with shooting to start next year. But with the project moving forward, it seems like the director is getting things ready for its production.
Though it seemed like a casual meeting at Hamill’s home, it is still likely that Gunn would have discussed the possible appearance of Hamill as a Marvel character in the MCU.
But even if the Star Wars actor bags a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is unlikely that fans will know about it anytime soon. Even the inclusion of Peter Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War remained a secret till the movie came close its worldwide release. So don’t hold your breath on that one.
If Hamill gets a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it could possibly end up being a brief cameo for fan’s to savor.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will certainly be one of the most anticipated titles of MCU’s phase 4. The threequel is expected to finally introduce the cosmic messiah a.k.a Adam Warlock.
