Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wraps filming, director James Gunn shares photo of Chris Patt, Pom Klementieff & rest of Marvel cast in announcement pic

After a grueling six-month-long production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn confirmed a wrap on principal photography and with it a picture of him with the entire cast. The upcoming Marvel film will be a conclusion to the franchise featuring the Guardians cast so emotions have been high among fans as well as the main crew, as can be seen in the “picture wrap” photo Gunn shared on Twitter.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 filming comes to end marking the completion to the Marvel Studios franchise that began in 2014. Gunn’s announcement came with a memorable image of him along with Sean Gunn (Kraglin/Rocket), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Dave Bautista (Drax). Readers can check it out below.

MCU pundits would have been quick to notice Zoe Saldana (Gamora) missing from the picture so Gunn followed up with another image assuring the star was also with them but the only picture he has was with an unannounced actor, so he couldn’t share it. Zoe is seen standing with Peacemaker actor Jennifer Holland and before fans jump the gun, Gunn clarified Holland is not in the Marvel movie.

Speaking of unannounced actors, Chukwudi Iwuji remains onboard in an unknown role. Though his involvement has been public knowledge for a long time, there are no details except for recent rumors indicating the Peacemaker actor will appear as High Evolutionary. Even so, Gunn has assured he’s playing a big part in the threequel.

For the uninitiated fans wondering why Bradley Cooper, the voice of Rocket Racoon and Vin Diesel, the voiceover for Groot isn’t in the picture, the director revealed they have never been to the set, as he’s reiterated on many occasions.

Guardians of the Galaxy will next be seen in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. The recent trailer even featured a funny interaction between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Pratt’s Star-Lord.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theatres on May 23, 2023.
