Hawkeye episode 4 reveals [SPOILERS] return as Black Widow assassin & fans love it

Hawkeye has been making great strides in connecting the Marvel Studios show with other past events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and episode 3 even included an Ant-Man reference. Yet, the recently released episode 4 has made a larger connection by introducing a new character related to Black Widow.

This article has spoilers for Hawkeye episode 4, readers have been warned!

Hawkeye episode 4 left many MCU fans disappointed after their expectations for a Kingpin reveal were left short. Luckily, the episode’s climactic ending delivered another surprise by introducing Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova or better known currently as the Black Widow assassin. Thrilled fans have taken to Twitter to share their excitement and are cheering over her similarities to Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow. Readers can take a look at the reactions below.

One fan even pointed out that Yelena did a Black Widow pose during her fight against Hawkeye and Kate Bishop.

To the uninitiated, Yelena Belova was introduced in 2021’s Black Widow movie as Natasha Romanoff’s adoptive sister. Yelena was also part of the Black Widow Ops program aka the Red Room. It’s a training program run by the Soviets where young women were turned into battle-hardened deadly assassins.

Kate Bishop too faces off against Yelena but refrains from taking her Arrow shot after Clint unmasks her identity. Perhaps, it could be a hint to Kate Bishop and Yelena’s future partnership as many fans have campaigned for.

Yelena’s arrival has been rumored for a while but its currently unclear how her involvement would play out in the larger conspiracy. Some hints point to the Black Widow assassin being a mercenary for hire type and could tie her in with Kingpin and even Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton). But the truth is yet to be revealed in Hawkeye.

Hawkeye episode 5 will also reportedly have a big reveal with some insiders stating it will set the stage for Kingpin’s arrival.  But fans are cautioned to take this news with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, Episode 4 subtly introduced another LGBTQ character so it seems like the Disney Plus show is just getting started with its surprises.

The next episode of Hawkeye will stream on Disney plus Hotstar next Wednesday as per schedule.
