Hawkeye episode 6 Kingpin plot twist has MCU fans buzzing

Hawkeye finale has left the Marvel fandom in shock after offering a surprising plot twist for Vincent D’onofrio‘s Kingpin. Though there are more unanswered mysteries – the climax sequence has many already sounding off on social media over what it could mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4.

Warning: Article contains major spoilers for Hawkeye episode 6

Hawkeye episode 6 is quick to introduce the Big guy in his iconic white suit and as the leader behind the tracksuit mafia’s operations. Though things don’t go as planned after Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga) decides to cut ties with Wilson Fisk to ensure Kate Bishop’s (Hailee Steinfeld) safety. Fisk being Fisk ups the ante to remind the people he controls New York City as well as puts Fra Fee‘s Kazi in charge of handling Maya (Alaqua  Cox).

Unfortunately for Fisk,  the “turnaround” puts him at the end of the point gun and the transitioning shot implies Maya pulls the trigger, yet the viewers don’t get to see the scene play out. While it may seem like the end of Kingpin, Marvel fans firmly believe the character wasn’t killed off. Some have even shared their theories suggesting the shot was a cliffhanger tease to hype the character’s future. Readers can check out the tweets below.

Some fans are also reminding others that Kingpin’s final interaction with Maya is comic-accurate and indicates his return.

It also seems like D’onofrio could be playing a new version of Kingpin, a variant instead of the fan-favorite portrayal from Netflix’s Daredevil series. However, the finale does not directly address the fact yet does justice by showing a glimpse of Fisk’s brute force and his ability to even deflect Hawkeye’s arrow. Let’s hope Fisk is strong enough to deflect bullets as well. Nonetheless, MCU boss Kevin Feige has confirmed Charlie Cox‘s return as Daredevil and it won’t be the same for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen if Kingpin is already dead. And let’s not forget he is Spider-Man’s main nemisis too.

Hawkeye final is now available to stream on Disney Plus.
