Hawkeye series is officially days away from premiering on Disney Plus. So Marvel Studios celebrated its upcoming debut with a red carpet launch event in LA, showing the first two episodes to attendees. Marvel Cinematic Universe’s head Kevin Feige, Hailee Steinfeld along with rest of the cast were also present during the premiere on Hollywood boulevard. The MCU chief, in particular, offered a few words on the upcoming show and what viewers should expect from the Holiday special Marvel series.
“I love it, its our first Disney Plus series starring an honest-to-goodness Avenger and It is our first red carpet event for one of our Disney Plus shows,” said Feige. He further added to compare the Hawkeye series to the likes of any Marvel movie project and hopes fans see it in the same way as well.
“These are just as big as our movies. So much love, so much work and so much effort goes into them. Everybody, in front of the camera, behind the camera, having something like this in celebration of debuting the first two episodes is great,” added Feige and went on to praise the large audience in presence for the red carpet.
Unlike past MCU flicks, the stakes in Hawkeye have nothing to do with saving the world rather fans will get to see the ex-Avenger uncover a criminal conspiracy while hoping to make it back home before Christmas. Clint Barton won’t be alone as he teams up with Kate Bishop, a big fan of Hawkeye during their journey and fight against criminals such as Alaqua Cox’s Echo and Fra Fee’s Kazi.
Discussing the decision behind pairing Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, Feige revealed its inspiration is right out of Matt fraction’s Marvel comic run.
“Well, Matt fraction had an amazing comic run where he paired Hawkeye and Kate Bishop and we knew that we wanted to do that pairing, to bring Kate bishop into the MCU. We had an ideal casting which is Hailee Steinfeld,” said Feige and stated the execs were looking at casting an actor on the likes of her but were lucky in landing Steinfeld.
Steinfeld also made a stunning appearance on the red carpet and shared her excitement for landing the Marvel role. You can check out the interview below.
Hawkeye series will arrive on Disney Plus on November 24 and will go on to stream between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
