Henry Cavill On Clark Kent’s Possible Return In ‘Justice League’

The cast and the entire team have been very secretive about the possible return of Clark Kent aka Superman in the upcoming Justice League. However, it seems like Henry Cavill might just have spilled some spoilers even though he was very careful not to reveal any critical information.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet from Miami’s WSVN-TV, Cavill mentioned that the comics might just hold the secret to whether and how Clark Kent returns in Justice League. He spoke about the various possible options in regards to the return of Superman and pointed at DC Comics Rebirth titles emphasizing the possibility of a different version of the character.

“Have you read the Rebirth comics? Rebirth comics, it’s a very different style of Clark Kent and Superman. He actually has a son as well with Lois and they live in a different place. It’s a very different lifestyle and relationship going on there so there’s an opportunity there for that, but there’s so many different other opportunities as well where we can express and play with what and who Clark is,” said Cavill.

Superman, as we all know, died at the end in Batman v Superman. Fans might remember Martha Kent handing Lois an envelope which had an engagement ring in it. Clark had wanted to give it to her, and so it would be very nice to see a restored Clark Kent and Lou happily settled down with family.

Back in August this year, Cavill had posted a closeup of the chest of Superman’s black suit. Now, in comics the black suit was worn by Superman in The Death of Superman when he returns to life wearing a black suit. This suit which is black in color is designed to absorb the energy of the sun as quickly as possible. Considering that the Justice League team has to fight the horrific Steppenwolf, the just risen Superman would need to get back his energy as fast as possible and face the impending threat. When asked about the suit, Henry Cavill only replied, “That’s exactly how it appears,” Cavill said when asked if it was a black suit. “I mean, it appears to be a black suit, right?”

Justice League releases will hit the theaters on November 17, 2017. The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Amber Heard as Mera, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, J.K. Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta.
