Henry Cavill’s Superman message for DCEU fans and the new character poster of the Man of Steel may have stolen Ant-Man 3 trailer’s thunder. But Marvel Studios’ teasing glimpse of Quantumania still delivered major reveals such as the first look at Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) and potential Young Avengers, Cassie Lang’s debut. Even so, DC Film supporters and MCU fans are divided over which movie’s PR tactic won the day and their social media reactions say it all.
Since Marvel unveiled the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 and CinemaCon, MCU fans have eagerly anticipated its release, especially since critics raved over Majors’ menacing look as a big bad that apparently rivals Thanos. On Monday, Marvel began hinting that the threequel’s teaser release was imminent. Though the scheduled release event came close to being ruined by a leak, Marvel Studios dropped the Ant-Man 3 teaser and the fandom responded by showering praises.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania began trending on Twitter but another CBM discussion abruptly took the spotlight, Henry Cavill released a video assuring he is back as Superman. Moreover, the announcement came with a new character portrait look at the red-capped superhero. Some were shocked by the Justice League actor’s deceleration since his cameo in Black Adam was still a new topic. But it seems to be a marketing push to help the Dwayne Johnson starrer flick’s box office earnings.
While DC & Marvel fans were busy arguing over which title emerged at the top, several movie experts pointed out that the once-lost excitement over comic book movie properties has returned. Readers can check it out below.

Crazy how the Ant-Man 3 trailer did absolutely nothing to me but a still image of Henry Cavill as Superman makes me jump around like a cartoon character

Cavill’s return has come with confirmation that Man of Steel 2 is in the works. It was last announced Charles Roven would produce the Superman sequel and were searching for writers. But according to a recent rumor mill, The Witcher star is yet to sign a multiple picture deal contract with Warner Bros. film. For Black Adam, Cavill came on board for a “one-off” but the execs at the studio are keen on making more Superman movies with him.
Could Superman’s return rejuvenate the DC brand to its good ol’ glorious days? It remains to be seen. But in the case of Marvel, the fandom already seems aware of the exciting journey Ant-Man 3 looks to deliver when it releases on February 17, 2023.
