It looks like the Aquaman project is as secretive as any other DC film (Justice League). Scottish actor Graham McTavish made a surprising reveal on Twitter about his involvement with James Wan’s standalone DC movie. But there’s nothing he can say about the role yet.
The Hobbit actor tweeted saying “Delighted to be able to announce my involvement in Aquaman. Character has to be secret….for now. It’s going to be awesome!.” The tweet has been embedded below.
By far, we know that Aquaman would introduce three new major villains namely Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus. It’s possible that McTavish’s role could reveal plot spoiling details which may explain the studio’s intention to keep it secretive.
McTavish is also known for being a voice actor for several popular video game titles. So it is also possible that he may be playing CGI character which only requires the actor to lend his voice and perhaps even motion capture, similar to how Ciaran Hinds filmed his part as Steppenwolf for Justice League.
Going by his tweet, it doesn’t seem like the actor’s character details would be kept a secret for long. Aquaman is scheduled to hit the big screens at the end of 2018 (December 21st). The project still has a long way to go.
Our earlier report confirmed that production wraps this month on 20th of October. The Wrap party was held earlier yesterday at the Gold Coast. fans can head over to Daily Mail to check some photos of Amber Heard at the party.
