‘I’m traumatized’: Fans react to The Boys season 3 episode 1 shocking Termite scene, Snyder cut reference & more

The Boys 3 episode 1 does not disappoint in delivering its much-loved R-rated bloodshed sequences, especially when it involves a Supe’s sex scene with a human. Though this shocking face-off was a bit more challenging for Frenchie (Tomer Capone), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Billy (Karl Urban) due to supes’ sheer size and fans seem to agree too.

Red carpet premieres are delightful but not if it’s for the Dawn of the Seven, set inside the world of The Boys. The Prime Video original series’ season 3 kicks off addressing the aftermath of season 2 finale which tarnished Homelander’s (Antony Starr) reputation, yes that’s referring to the 100-year-old Nazi freak, Stormfront. Fortunately, it’s the only backlash Vaught faces thanks to a little “reshoots” and replacing Cash with Charlize Theron’s surprising cameo as Stormfront. While the Zack Snyder’s Justice League Easter egg wasn’t much of a surprise due to early promos spoiling the comedic reference, another homage was paid to a superhero flick, though this time its Marvel or at least according to fans.

Billy’s ragtag team or what’s left of it goes undercover to a penthouse party hosted by another Supe called Termite (Brett Geddes), an Ant-Man knock-off that the Boys were on the lookout for. But things go sideways when Termite gets a little carried away in the bedroom when he goes “inside” his boyfriend.

Termite shrinks down to the point where he could squeeze inside his boyfriend’s, well, inner penis. But their bedroom antics take a U-turn when Termite sneezes, blowing apart his partner’s body. And cue, Frenchie, who came close to having the Ant-sized supe get inside his anus but luckily Butcher saves him by throwing Termite inside a tiny coke bag, which overdoses him.

The gory death left fans utterly shocked, some insisting it’s in reference to Marvel fans’ plea when many hoped Ant-Man could shrink himself to the size where he could enter Thanos through his anus and blow up in size. Additionally, the #ReleaseTheBourkeCut, a reference to the real-world Pop Culture phenomena, the Snyder Cut movement has also been well-received by many DC fans. Readers can check it out below.

If that wasn’t enough, it seems Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Olivia Morandin) might not be on the same mission as Hughie (Jack Quaid). The Boys 3 episode 1 ends with Hughie finding out Neuman is a Supe and also watches her kill her friend by blasting his body into smithereens. Luckily, Billy got his hands on the temp Compound V as well as some credible info from Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) on Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). It’s looking increasingly likely that season 3 will set up a big showdown pitting The Seven against Payback or a Homelander vs. Soldier Boy.

Homelander’s lack of power at Vaught could be signaling his impending violent breakdown. With Starlight’s (Erin Moriarty) promotion as co-captain, Homelander could lose his cool any day and his unnecessary beef with A-train (Jessie T. Usher) is proof.

The Boys 3’s first three episodes are currently streaming on Prime Video.
