X-Men: Dark Phoenix will reportedly show the death of a very important character from the X-Men: First Class franchise. Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, the Dark Phoenix will have the most heartbreaking plot in all history of X-Men.
In X-Men: The Last Stand, Cyplops and Professor X were killed by Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) during her time as Dark Phoenix. As per Hashtag Show, X-Men: Dark Phoenix will feature a similar situation as a major character who has been part of the show since the very beginning (X-Men: First Class, released in 2011) will die.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as per source, will feature Jean Grey go through a terrible and shocking path of destruction just like in the comics. Just when she is about to be taken over by the Phoenix, Jean is unable to control her power and will impale, killing one of the original mutants. The Dark Phoenix movie is said to take things beyond the last film.
Since one of the characters from First Class is rumored to die in 2018, we are free to speculate and make our guess work. Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) are the only four mutants from the First Class that are around as of now. The other significant star cast of the film includes Evan Peter (Quicksilver), and Jessica Chastain (Lilandra) among others.
Many iterations of the story (which includes The Last Stand) show Jean killing Charles by mistake when she loses control of the Phoenix. Audience might hence expect Charles to be the one to lose his life. There is all possibility for Mystique to be killed since the rumor of her desire to exit from the franchise has been going on for quite some time now. Another possibility is the death of Magneto. However, that is something that most die-hard fans will not expect, and might result in shaking up the entire X-Men world.
Back in September this year, Olivia Munn who played Psylocke in the movie’s prequel X-Men: Apocalypse had teased about her involvement in the film. She had even suggested that The Dark Phoenix will be two films.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix has finished work on the principle photography. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 2, 2018.
