After a two-year hiatus, India comic-con is making a comeback for 2022, which also marks the 10-year anniversary of the extravagant Pop Culture experience. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, ICC hit the pause button on delivering its signature ‘best weekend of the year’ event after its 2019 edition.
India comic-con touted as the greatest pop culture experience in the country since its first edition in 2011, has come a long way, 10 years to be precise. And the folks at ICC have shined their bat signal, confirming the Pop Culture event’s return this 2022 Q3. The official social media platform ICC announced the news with a video. Readers can check it out below.

It should be noted that Comic-Con India is yet to announce the official dates on its website and has currently just assured its return with a “Coming soon” note. But the social media post confirms BCC would be held on 19-20 November. Furthermore, the event is confirmed for Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai.
India comic-con 2019 attracted massive pop culture enthusiasts thanks to studios like Warner Bros. and Disney’s experiential zones featuring life-size figures from Star Wars, Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn from Birds of Prey, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman from WW84 and more.
Additionally, comic book artists were also invited and participated in fan interactions and panel discussions. However, with Covid-19 still posing concerns, it remains to be seen if any Marvel/DC Comics artists or other industry personalities could make an appearance at India Comic-con 2022. Even so, Marvel Studios and WBD could surprise fans with their interactive zones, especially with movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Creed III arriving in late 2022.
Earlier in February 2021, India comic-con held a week-long digital celebration to commemorate the glorious one decade. It also included video commemoration by creators and the partners from the first edition like Reena Puri, Executive Editor, Amar Chitra Katha, Sanjay Gupta (Co-Creator, Raj Comics), Legendary creator & writer Aabid Surti and more.
