Shazam! makers, as well as actors, have been teasing Zachary Levi’s Shazam costume for quite some time. Now, finally, a picture, which started to make rounds on the internet on Tuesday, gives us an unofficial first glimpse of the titular character in his superhero costume.
The picture shows Zachary Levi in Shazam!’s iconic red-and-gold costume standing amidst members of the film crew on a Christmas-decorated set which looks like the main concourse of a shopping mall. It is interesting to note that the picture in question reveals Christmas decorations in the background, which suggests that the movie will be taking place around the holiday season.
Mark Strong who is the playing the main villain, Doctor Sivana, in the film can also be seen standing in the photo, though it’s not sure if he is in his costume. Now that a picture of Zachary Levi’s Shazam costume has leaked online, it is highly likely that Warner Bros. will unveil the Shazam! suit soon. It was revealed that the costume will resemble the one created for the character in DC animated universe. You can check out the picture below.
Recently Shazam star Zachary Levi shared a picture on Instagram showing a Batman toy in a never been seen before avatar in the DC Extended Universe.
“Look who makes a cameo in Shazam… 😏” Levi captioned the picture. Fans can find that photo below.
Directed by David Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) and written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke, Shazam! is the story of a young teenage boy named Billy Batson who gets transformed into a superhero whenever he says the magical word Shazam. The film stars Asher Angel as young Billy Batson, Zachary Levi as Shazam, and Mark Strong as villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
Some of the other stars who are also on board include Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s best friend, Freddy, Mary (Grace Fulton) as Billy’s sister, Darla played by Faithe Herman, Pedro played by Jovan Armand, Eugene played by Ian Chen, Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as the family’s foster parents, Victor and Rosa Vasquez, and Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard.
Shazam! is set to land in theaters on April 5, 2019.
First On Set Look at #Shazam. Can’t wait for the official look at the costume. pic.twitter.com/zx7FhfOAy5

I am going to reserve my judgment until an official reveal is actually released but this does *not* look promising at all.
This looks extremely cheap & made for television. Kind of disappointed. #Shazam pic.twitter.com/dZnlulgSQg

I don’t know what people were expecting with the Shazam costume.
Injustice armor plating? Dark and gloomy colors?
It looks just like the comics, with the New 52 hood.

First Look (kinda) of #Shazam … gonna wait for a full frontal view before commenting but right now… I dunno… https://t.co/WHCKvQPGhH

Saw the #Shazam suit in person. Looked sharp to me. It’s nicer in person than the leaked photo. Zack is really built. They had something over the lightning bolt which I am sure they will make look cool on screen.

How could they let this happen? How could they NOT release an official still before allowing him out onto an open set like this? I’m dumbfounded.
Say what you will about Zack Snyder, but there’s no way he’d let this be the first look the public gets of a titular hero.#Shazam pic.twitter.com/xVSp9mMJjB

This is what I was talking about earlier today, with regard to my disappointment that our first look at #Shazam was some half-assed leaked image.
This is how #Superman and #Batman were revealed to the world before they started appearing on sets where pics could leak… pic.twitter.com/QB1Rh5fH0q
