Marvel fans were disappointed after learning that Netflix has canceled two of their Marvel TV shows- Iron Fist and Luke Cage. As per reports, Netflix took the big decision considering the huge drop in viewership numbers for each of the show’s second season.
During a recent convention appearance at Rhode Island Comic-Con, Iron Fist star Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand, opened up about his disappointment with the series cancelation. Jones was accompanied to the event by his co-star Jessica Henwick who portrays the character of Colleen Wing.
“It’s just a shame that the show gets canceled right when Danny reaches his peak … it feels like the journey is incomplete,” Jones told interviewer Clare Kramer, who posted the same on Twitter.
When the actors were asked which comic book characters they would love to play in future Marvel Cinematic Universe properties, the two had their own choice of characters.
“I think I would,” Henwick responded adding “I’d love to play a supervillain or Silk. Silk is cool.”
Jones, on the other hand, said he would like to play a character who’s already had two cameos in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise films.
“I’d love to play Howard the Duck,” Jones said.
After the news of Iron Fist’s cancellation was announced last month, Jones shared a statement on Instagram, beginning “with every end is a new beginning.”
“I have an enormous amount of love and respect for everyone involved with the last two seasons of this show,” Jones wrote. “Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support.”
Marvel’s Iron Fist is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix.
