Now that IT: Chapter 2 in officially into production and filming, new details about the film’s cast and the storyline has started pouring in. The supernatural horror film, IT, which got released in 2017, was based on first part of Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name. Now its sequel, IT: Chapter 2, will follow the last half of King’s novel. The film’s story will pick up 27 years after the first film.

According to Cinema Blend, the sequel horror film will feature one of the most shocking death scenes from the novel which is the killing of Adrian Mellon in Derry, Main. Now talking more about Mellon, he lives in Derry, Maine. The character will be shown being in a relationship with another man named Don Hagarty. The two decide to leave Derry as they get increasingly frightened of the evil lurking within and the town’s homophobic attitude.

The unfortunate death will take place after an annual fair in Derry. Adrian and Don get assaulted by a group of homophobic teens who later throw Adrian off the bridge. It is at this point that the demonic clown Pennywise emerges from the shadows and kills Adrian with Don and the teens witnessing his death. This particular scene depicted how horrifying IT’s antagonist really was.

It is expected that Adrian Mellon’s murder scene will be used in IT: Chapter 2 to show that Pennywise has resurfaced again. The one incident will be enough to force the Losers Club members to come back to their hometown and deal with the monster again in IT: Chapter 2. Xavier Dolan has reportedly been cast as Adrian in the It sequel.

Directed by Andy Muschietti, IT: Chapter 2 ’s star cast includes Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan as Ben, Andy Bean as Stan, James Ransone as Eddie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise.

Recently, McAvoy revealed in his post on Instagram that the team has begun working on the sequel project.

IT: Chapter 2 is currently set to debut in theatres on September 6, 2019.
