The famous demonic clown Pennywise is yet again ready to scare audiences in the follow up to the immensely successful 2017 released supernatural horror film IT, titled IT Chapter Two. The film is already into production and filming in Toronto. The San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event attendees were in for a treat when director Andy Muschietti showcased some exclusive footage from IT Chapter Two during New Line Cinema’s ScareDiego panel on Wednesday night.
The behind-the-scenes featurette, which was shown exclusively to the SDCC attendees, showed glimpses of the adult Losers Club members inducing James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James Ransone as Eddie, Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan as Ben, Andy Bean as Stanley, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. The footage also offered a look at the monstrous demon clown Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgard.
One of the scenes in the footage showed the Losers’ Club meeting up at a Chinese restaurant where Richie (Hader) bangs a gong and asks the group, “So, what do you want to talk about?”
Director Muschietti has warned the attendees that IT Chapter Two is going to be scarier and more intense than the first installment. So, he advised them to bring adult diapers with them to the theatres.
“People are very invested emotionally in the characters of the story. At the end of the first one, there’s a promise of something else…It’s gonna be scarier. It’s gonna be a more intense experience. So, bring your adult diapers to the theater,” the IT Chapter Two director warned, reported ComicBook.
The IT sequel film, which is based on the second part of Stephen King’s best-selling 1986 novel IT, will bring the Loser club members together once again to fight against Pennywise, 27 years after their last run-in with the evil clown.
The film studio behind IT Chapter Two released a brief teaser of the film on Instagram last week. You can check out the teaser clip below.
IT Chapter 2 is set to debut in theatres on September 2019.
A bunch of peeks at Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise looking exactly as he did before: creepy as hell! Andy Muschietti says the sequel will be “scarier and more intense” and that we should wear adult diapers to the theater. #ScareDiego @joblocom
