James Gunn is caught in another drama from the DCEU’s Justice League days after Ray Fisher took a jibe at the DC Studios CEO over his opinion on Joss Whedon’s toxic work environment allegations. The Cyborg actor has long criticized the earlier regime at Warner Bros. Pictures led by Walter Hamada.
DC Film fans are being muddled by rumor after rumor since Gunn unveiled his plans to recast Superman and all but confirmed a reboot of the existing universe. While he already faces a barrage of toxicity from Snyderverse followers for casting off the entire Justice League – his recent interaction with Fisher attracted more heat from the Snyder cut fanbase.
Fisher accused Gunn of deleting tweets where he apologized for choosing sides over a situation he “knew nothing about & I shouldn’t have liked the tweet.” The Cyborg star blasted the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director stating he “uses fake grace on Twitter” and seem to take offense over the deletion of the past tweets.
Ray Fisher accuses James Gunn of “toxic behavior” for refusing to apologize over deleted tweets
Fisher ended his tweet with a harsh note, “Refusing to apologize for toxic behavior seems to be a job requirement for WB/DC.” But James Gunn clarified that all his tweets are automatically scheduled to be deleted after a set period of months and assured it “has nothing to do with my tweets to you”. Readers can check it out below.
The way @JamesGunn uses fake grace on Twitter is really funny.
Him going to bat for Joss Whedon, pseudo-apologizing for it, and then deleting it immediately before taking his new DC job is not.

ALL my tweets automatically delete every few months, Ray, it has nothing to do with my tweets to you.

Whedon had earlier denied Fisher’s allegation bringing into question his acting ability as a factor behind the director’s decision to remove/limit Cyborg scenes. Even so, The Avengers: Age of Ultron helmer has been on the blacklist over misconduct allegations from his Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-workers.
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot also had her own horror story to share from working with Whedon. Apparently, the director threatened to harm the actress’s career and she informed to WBs execs.
Gunn’s past relationship with Whedon has become a target for The Suicide Squad director amid his revamp plans. Moreover, many continue to accuse him of Nepotism and favoritism since rumors indicated The Suicide Squad along with Peacemaker and Jennifer Holand’s Harcourt will remain in the new DCU slate. Though the multimedia label architect has been quite careful with his recent statements which only leaves more room for speculations rather than answers.
