Jason Momoa revealed that he got to know some top-secret spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 8 show when he visited the set in Belfast.
Game of Thrones Season 8, which will also be the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones series, will hit the small screen sometime in 2018 or 2019. Currently, the cast and crew are busy shooting in Ireland and will continue until this summer.
Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in the Season 1 episode of HBO’ fantasy television series Game of Thrones visited the GOT set in Belfast to meet up with his old friends. He reportedly got to know quite a few exciting ‘secrets’ and spoilers. Momoa in season 1 played the Dothraki horse lord who marries Daenerys but later dies due to a wound caused by a stabbing.
In an interview with EW, Momoa opened up about his excitement. He said, “Just knowing how amazing this season is going to be…It’s going to be the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV. It’s going to be unbelievable. It’s going to f— up a lot of people. And it was a bummer because I’m a huge fan and I didn’t want to know what’s going on. I was like, ‘Damn, I didn’t want to know that!”
Even though Jason Momoa made sure to not spill the bean and reveal any spoilers about Game of Thrones Season 8, he has certainly managed to get GOT fans all excited. Gauging from Momoa’s reactions, it seems like the series will be a super hit.
Since there were major leaks in the last season of Game of Thrones, creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss are very particular this time on not revealing any detail.
Jason Momoa’s visit to the set of GOT led fans to speculate his return to the series. However Momoa made it clear that he would not be returning to the series. “I just showed up to see [producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I just happened to see people on set. I haven’t been over there in a long time. You just want to see your friends and you end up make headlines going, ‘Drogo’s back!’ and I’m like, ‘He’s dead! He can’t come back, it wouldn’t work,” said Momoa.
Game of Thrones has raised its bar over the years and people are expecting to see more of epic battles, political drama, and not to forget the huge dragons. From what Jason Momoa has to say, it seems like Game of Thrones Season 8 will live up to its expectations. And perhaps, fans will get to hear some interesting stories from cast members from their timing filming the final season, similar to the last.
