Academy Award-nominated actress Jessica Chastain has posted a new video on social media teasing her return to the sets of Fox’s upcoming film, X-Men: Dark Phoenix for reshoots in Montreal, Quebec.
Chastain’s funny Instagram video shows X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg using a selfie face filter consisting of aviator sunglasses. Looking at the video it seems the actress is having a gala time with the director and cast as reshoots commence.
Chastain has returned for the Dark Phoenix reshoots after wrapping up filming on IT: Chapter Two. She is portraying a mysterious villain in the new X-Men film who manipulates Phoenix (Sophie Turner).

With Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox and other assets, fans began wondering if all the X-Men movies in the works would be shelved. But as Disney’s purchase is not expected to be finalized until mid-2019, the Fox movie studio has ample time to go ahead with its projects which are currently in progress including X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants. X-Men: Dark Phoenix was originally set to release in November of this year. But the film’s release was pushed to February 2019 to accommodate for reshoots.
Earlier this month, director Simon Kinberg also posted a behind-the-scenes picture from the set of X-Men: Dark Phoenix on his Instagram story to confirm that work on the film is going on smoothly. Dark Phoenix‘s reshoots are expected to span about two-and-a-half weeks.
Dark Phoenix will adapt the Dark Phoenix Saga comic book storyline. the film stars Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Ship as Storm, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Jessica Chastain in a mystery role.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is currently scheduled to arrive in theatres on February 14, 2019, while The New Mutants is set to debut on August 2, 2019.
