Sorry Iron Fist and Luke Cage but Krysten Ritter‘s Jessica Jones seems to be Marvel Studios’ first priority character to debut in the MCU. Going by the latest rumor, she’s set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again. However, it won’t be the only Marvel project the superhero turned private investigator could make an appearance on.
Marvel’s street-level heroes established under Netflix are finally breaking into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it may surprise many, some MCU aficionados have been expecting an official announcement for months thanks to Ritter’s hints on social media. Recently, she amped up fans’ hopes after sharing a selfie wearing a Daredevil t-shirt. Although Mike Colter also cryptically teased his arrival in the past – insider MyTimeToShineHello says Luke Cage and Iron Fist are “not coming back anytime soon”.
It has been long rumored Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher would make an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. Fortunately, the scooper believes Frank Castle is still a part of the project’s plans. Though one unique detail from the MCU insider raised fans’ curiosity, “Jessica Jones is back and not just for Daredevil,” she tweeted. Readers can check it out below.
Before jumping ahead to speculate, it should be noted that Jessica Jones was reported to pop up in the Echo series for Disney Plus. However, it was also suggested that the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) would appear as well.

Ritter’s involvement to play the lead role in the Orphan Black sequel series initially prompted doubts that the Breaking Bad star could make room in her schedule to return as Jessica Jones. However, her continued enthusiasm for the Marvel role assured her fanbase of her inevitable return.
It’s unclear if any other characters from Netflix’s Jessica Jones universe could return. Marvel Studios has already replaced/retconned a character called Melvin Potter, the creator of the Daredevil suit in She-Hulk with Luke Jacobson.
Jessica Jones alongside Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist last appeared in The Defenders crossover event series. While almost all the Netflix-introduced Marvel characters are expected to return at some point, Finn Jones‘ iteration of Iron Fist, which received the most flak – has failed to garner much fan support. However, Jessica Henwick‘s Colleen Wing as Iron Fist has gained a growing fan following for her return.
