Earlier last week, Warner Bros. officially greenlighted The Joker origin movie starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role. The film’s official title is yet to be announced by the studio but it looks like it may have already been revealed.
UPDATE: THR has confirmed that the film is indeed titled as just ‘Joker’ and will hit the big screens on October 4, 2019.
According to the recent listings on Production Weekly, the official title goes by the same name as the clown prince of crime, “JOKER”.

Production Weekly has a good track record and has been the source for various stories involving the reveal of working titles, castings and production start date of several movie and television shows.
Earlier, the website unveiled the title of John Wick 3. Moreover, they were also the first to announce that Jeremy Renner is on board the Spawn reboot movie. Recently, we also reported on Zack Snyder receiving a producer credit for The Flash movie, which was revealed by a listing on Production Weekly.
Though its safe to say this report has some credibility. Readers are still advised to take it with a grain of salt.
In any case, production on the movie is expected to begin on September 22 in New York. So, we can soon expect an official press release or photo of the clapperboard with the official logo on the start of production to confirm “Joker” as the title of the movie.
Casting news is also expected to follow by in the following days or months. A report from last Saturday acts as a second confirmation that Robert De Niro will appear in the Joker movie. but its also been stated that he might not be “playing some canon type character.”
The Joker movie is yet to receive a release date.
