Joker Movie: Joaquin Phoenix’s Body Transformation For Role Revealed

Actors are often required to either gain or put off weight for their characters in a film. Actor Joaquin Phoenix, who is soon going to start production on his upcoming Joker movie, was recently spotted walking around in New York City. The latest picture proves that Phoenix has lost a considerable amount of weight in preparation for his role as the iconic Batman villain, who is generally depicted as being rake-thin.

The Oscar-nominated actor was spotted wearing in a navy blue pullover shirt, dark blue jeans, sneakers and black sunglasses. You can check out Phoenix’s latest pictures, courtesy Just Jared, below.

In related news, a few days back it was announced that the filmmakers have roped in Mission: Impossible – Fallout fame actor Alec Baldwin to play the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman’s father, Thomas Wayne. But, now, Baldwin has himself confirmed to USA Today that he has dropped out of the Warner Bros. Pictures film entirely due to scheduling issues.

I’m no longer doing that movie,” Baldwin said, adding “I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”

Set in the 1980s in Gotham City, the Joker origin movie will portray the clown as a failed comedian. It will explain the situation which forced the failed comedian to turn into the Clown Prince of Crime. As per reports, the filmmakers are eyeing an R-rating for the film as it will showcase female nudity in smaller roles.

The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips is directing The Joker. Phillips is also co-writing the script along with Scott Silver (8 Mile). The film is set to begin shooting in New York City in the next two weeks.

The Joker movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime, Zazie Beetz ((Deadpool 2), Robert De Niro (The King of Comedy), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story),  Marc Maron (Almost Famous) and Bryan Callen.

The Joker movie is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 4, 2019.
