Warner Bros. has yet again lost another director for one of its most anticipated DC project. It has been reported that Justice League Dark is currently without a director as Doug Liman has parted ways.
Variety exclusively broke Liman’s departure from the DC film. The director decision to exit Justice League Dark was due to schedule issues with another project, according to Variety’s insiders.
Liman is set to direct Chaos Walking for Lionsgate. The project was recently greenlit for production. It is likely that the director will begin working on the film soon.
Fortunately, Warner Bros. has already begun its hunt for the next director to avoid delays. Moreover, the studio has met with other directors and could possibly announce its replacement soon.
THR writer Borys Kit has revealed his first source said “IT director Andy Muschietti is on the list.” The journalist is still yet to confirm the news but the possibility remains for now. Fans can check out his tweet below.
Muschietti hasn’t directed a lot of films in Hollywood. However, the director has received much fame for his upcoming title IT. Furthermore, he also helmed Mama, a horror film released in 2013. The movie was critical acclaimed and received several awards.
Justice League Dark is being scripted by Michael Gilio and produced by Scott Rudin. The film will comprise of a team of superheroes with supernatural abilities. The force will be lead by John Constantine, teaming up with Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon. Warner Bros. still hasn’t revealed any plot details.
Studio is already looking for new director on JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, with one source saying IT director Andy Muschietti is on the list.
