The much-awaited DC Comics’ Justice League is all set to hit the theatres next month, and fans cannot wait to see how this first film which teams up DC comics’ major superheroes will unfold. In an on-the-set interview with Empire magazine, the cast members revealed some interesting details and updates, while promising a very grand, exciting and epic film.
When Zack Snyder stepped down from the Justice League movie after the tragic loss of his daughter, Joss Whedon was brought in to handle the project’s reshoots. later on, it was reported that the new scenes would lighten the tone of the film. However, while talking to Empire Magazine, Ben Affleck, who will be playing the role of Batman in Justice League, said that this is exactly what Snyder wanted.
Ezra Miller, who essays the role of Barry Allen/The Flash, added that the gifted filmmaker had a great vision and always wanted the Justice League heroes to come out of the darkness and even tag along the bat as well:
“The first time I ever sat in Zack’s office, he told me people were mad at him for making things too dark. Zack always intended for the Justice League to rise out of the darkness, and maybe even bring Batman with them. Maybe an inch.”
When the cast was asked about the changes that were made in the Justice League after Whedon took over, they all unanimously said that Whedon understood Snyder’s vision.
Affleck further added that Justice League will not be anything like The Avengers that Whedon had directed earlier. “In mid-stream, Joss got on and part of what interested him was the puzzle aspect of it, fitting in pieces that weren’t there yet. He put the rest of the pieces in and gave it his own imprimatur,” said Affleck.
Gal Gadot, who plays Diana prince in the movie spoke highly of Whedon and added that he was “Zack’s guy and knew exactly what he wanted.”
Justice League fans will be excited to know that the film will introduce Steppenwolf. This will happen when the New God enters the earth looking out for the three Mother Boxes that has been hidden on earth. Jason Momoa, who did not reveal much spoilers hinted about the terrible consequences if Aquaman and his team failed to stop Steppenwolf.
It is difficult to state exactly how much Justice League movie will change from the earlier script. However, its evident that the entire cast and crew respect Zack Snyder a lot and wants to stick to the vision that he had from the start.
Justice League is expected to release on November 17, 2017. The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Amber Heard, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Willem Dafoe, J.K. Simmons, Connie Nielsen, and Ciarán Hinds.
