Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) switching places during combat in The Marvels teaser trailer is the talk of the town among MCU fans on social media. After teasing the first footage reveal through a brief clip on Tuesday, 11 April – Marvel Studios released a 1-minute 56-second promo showing how each MCU character’s lives collide due to the entanglement of their powers.
From Park Seo Joon‘s Prince Yan to Zawe Ashton‘s General Dar-Benn – The Marvels teaser trailer is packed with newcomers’ first looks, glimpses of Kamala Khan’s wholesome interaction with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and her team-up with Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau. Fun elements are prevalent in the teaser such as during Kamala Khan’s family getting to meet Fury and Rambeau for the first time.
Captain Marvel 2 teaser trailer begins with Captain Rambeau in space working for S.A.B.E.R. Space Station with Nick Fury. But she comes across a blue shield similar to the one that granted her cosmic abilities in WandaVision. Some are speculating the blue forcefield appears to be a barrier between timelines in the multiverse.
Monica Rambeau reveals in the trailer she can manipulate light energy. She’s shown phasing through objects and blasting photon energy in the promo footage. But in each instance when either of the cosmic superheroes uses their powers, they switch places like When Ms. Marvel is transported to some distant place in space fighting Kree alongside Goose while Captain Marvel appears in Kamala’s home in New Jersey.

Speaking of whom, Ms. Marvel’s first experience seeing Goose’s Flerken tentacles is one of the highlights of The Marvels teaser trailer. Several kittens are shown in the trailer which fans believe could be Flerken babies. In addition, One fan also pointed out the similarities in The Marvels power-swapping element to the 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
The Marvels teaser also received some backlash for featuring Mohan Kapur’s Yusuf Khan character. The actor was accused of sexual harassment allegations in December 2022. fans hoped to see his role recast though the character appears during Kamala’s family scenes. Even so, the sequences were filmed before the accusation so it remains to be seen if the theatrical cut would reduce his screen time, as many MCU fans are hoping for.
Parts of the teaser showcased the musical sequences showing Carol, Monica and Kamala dancing along with a horde of people on a yet-to-be-identified planet. It was earlier revealed The Marvels will also take place on a planet where they communicate through rhymes. It was rumored Seo Joon’s character is the leader of this planet.
The Marvels will land in theaters on November 10, 2023.
