As Marvel Studios has already confirmed that Avengers 4 will be the last installment which will wrap up Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3, fans are quite excited to know how the story will conclude and whether it will bid farewell to some of the Marvel’s superheroes. Furthermore, they are also interested to know how the insanely powerful Thanos will finally be defeated.

During a recent interview with The Sun, when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked if the MCU world will have an ending in future, he replied saying that the best stories definitely come to an end.

“It’s a world I hope continues far into the future in the same way all of these storylines have continued in the comics,” Feige said. “We’re one decade in. In the comics, some of these heroes are five, six, seven decades in. So I do hope they continue for a long time. But, storylines can come to an end. The best stories do come to an end. ”

Notably, the original Star Wars trilogy started with the release of the film Star Wars followed by The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and then ended with Return of the Jedi (1983). After Return of the Jedi, it took almost 16 years for the studio to release a new film which introduced new actors who would take on the next mantle.

Feige added that he wants the MCU to continue in the same way with new actors and new storylines. He revealed that Avengers 4 will offer a definitive ending to the ongoing Marvel storyline that has been fan’s favorite for the last 10 years.

“Return of the Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel,” the Marvel Studios’ President said. “That hasn’t happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in and a new storyline starts right away. We wanted to do it this way because we think that the best stories have a definitive ending to a storyline. That’s certainly what’s going to happen next year with Avengers 4.”

Talking about the future of some of the MCU superheroes, Feige said that many of the characters will continue onward in unexpected ways.

“The Universe, the world, many of the characters we’ve introduced will continue onward in unexpected ways, some of which I don’t even know yet,” Kevin Feige teased.
