Marvel Head Kevin Feige Shares Update On Captain Marvel Production & Its First Trailer

It seems fans will have to wait a little longer to get their first glimpse of Captain Marvel from the movie’s first trailer. The upcoming film is expected to offer every possible detail about the female superhero Captain Marvel who is also rumored to play a crucial role in the upcoming Avengers 4.

During a recent interview with Comic Book, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that fans should not expect the first Captain Marvel trailer to come out until later in the year. He said that the film studio is still figuring out when to release it.

I think there’s still a few months on it,” Feige said.

When asked to throw light on the upcoming film’s plot, he said that fans already know as much as they need to. He also revealed that the film is just set to wrap production in about two weeks time.

You already know as much as you need to,” Feige said about the film’s plot. “We’ve got Skrulls, we’ve got the Kree, it takes place in the 90s, you have Sam Jackson with two eyes and Carol Danvers, a unique telling of Carol Danvers origin story. We are about two weeks out from completion of principal photography.”

It appears the wait for the trailer release is going to get longer as Marvel has already opted to skip San Diego Comic-Con event this year.

Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel will feature Academy Award-winner Brie Larson in the titular role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. The film’s story follows Carol Danvers as she takes on her heroic identity from being an Air Force pilot. The character gains access to extreme powers after her DNA gets mixed with that of a Kree alien in an accident.

Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel also stars Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, McKenna Grace, and Algenis Perez Soto in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.

Captain Marvel will debut in theaters on March 8, 2019.
