Disney Channel’s Kim Possible Live-Action Movie Gets Filming Start Date

Earlier in February, it was announced that Disney Channel was developing a live-action Kim Possible movie. The project was quick to move ahead as fans were also treated with leaked audition tapes.

Now it looks like the project all set to begin production. Kim Possible which will be working under the codename ‘Possibility’ is currently slated to start principle photography on June 4th in Vancouver according to a listing on Production Weekly.

‘Possibility’ could be a reference to the popular Kim Possible fanfic ‘A Small Possibility’ by NoDrogs.

The production is expected to wrap on July 23rd. A casting announcement might just be around the corner with the project actively moving ahead with its production.

To be co-produced and co-directed by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky, Kim Possible movie’s script will be penned by the cartoon series’ creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley.

Disney’s Descendants 3 will also be filming in Vancouver and possibly during the same time since it was revealed to begin this summer.

The original Variety report announcing the development of a Kim Possible live action had a quote on the project from Disney channel’s vice president. Here’s what he had to say.

“Mark and Bob created an enduring character and kids all over the world found a friend in her, an average girl who just happens to spend her off-school hours thwarting evil villains,” said Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide. “Although Kim Possible ‘can do anything,’ kids and tweens found that this animated redhead was just like them. As we embark on the fun challenge of making Kim and Ron fully dimensional, I’m thrilled to be working again with Mark and Bob and to welcome the addition of a dynamic creative team – Josh, Zanne, Adam and Zach – into a world where anything is indeed possible.”
