Legends of Tomorrow: The Flash’s Wally West Could Replace Firestorm

Kid Flash, also known as Wally West, might be joining the Legends of Tomorrow. In a recent interview, The CW President Mark Pedowitz teased a possibility of the character’s appearance in the DCTV show.

Fans know that there are at least two important places to fill on the team. Victor Garber’s Martin Stein/Firestorm succumbed to his injuries and died during the annual Arrowverse crossover of Crisis on Earth-X. After the death of Stein, his other half Jefferson Jackson, played by Franz Drameh, also exited the show.

Based on Pedowitz recent statement, media outlets are speculating that Keiynan Lonsdale’s character Wally West might be one of the two replacements in Legends’ team. Speaking to Black Girl Nerds, Pedowitz talked about Firestorm’s exit and hinted at Wally West’s appearance in Legends of Tomorrow.

The CW president refrained from giving away any concrete information. “You might see Wally West show up on Legends,” Pedowitz told the abovementioned publication.

When asked if Wally West will become a permanent member of the Legends and replace the founding member, Pedowitz said that he “can’t answer that, you’ll have to watch.”

Currently, the team includes Ray Palmer/Atom, Rip Hunter, Sara Lance/White Canary, Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Carter Hall/Hawkman, Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Nate Heywood/Steel, Vixen, and Zari Adrianna Tomaz. A speedster will only be a valuable addition to the team.

In a previous interview with Comicbook, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim revealed his plans about replacing Firestorm in Legends of Tomorrow. The EP made it clear that an already established character from the Arrow-verse will take the empty seat on the Waverider.

“We do have a plan for how to replace Firestorm on the bridge, and it’s a really cool one,” Guggenheim said. It’s one we’re really excited about. There’s really like two empty chairs on the Waverider. So we do have a game plan. We’ve always had a game plan. I just can’t talk about the game plan. The CW publicity will determine when we get to unleash that bit of news… It’s a returning. It’s a previously established character from the Arrow-verse.”

The Flash returns on Jan. 16 at 8:00 pm on The CW. The recent extended trailer for episode 10 of season 4 gave a glimpse at the challenges Barry will face on the trail. Meanwhile, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will air its midseason premiere on Feb.12 on The CW. Keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.
