‘liberal socialist in this version’ Snow White movie reportedly changes Disney Princess’ motives, details on love interest & The Bandits role explained

Rachel Zegler‘s past comments indicating the live-action Snow White adaptation contrasts with the 1937 animated movie pans out according to a new insider report. Apparently, Disney has not only taken a new approach with the Seven Dwarfs but has also changed the Disney Princess’ motivations such as discarding the tritagonist Prince – her love interest to replace him with another character who will appear as a Bandit.

The live-action remake of Snow White has been engulfed in controversies due to comments by Rachel Zegler, some taken out of context, or at least that is what the actress’ PR team tried to convey. With the Actors Strike – Zegler has been unable to respond to the backlash to her statements which suggest the original love story plot in Disney’s first full-length animation is just “a guy who literally stalks her.”

Staying in line with her claims, insider MTTSH (a source known for sharing accurate movie reports) states “The male love interest who Isn’t a prince is also a Bandit.” The scooper confirms the replacement for the Seven Dwarfs is the Bandits, the people who save Snow White from her captive under her Evil stepmother, set to be played by Gal Gadot in the upcoming live-action.

The biggest takeaway from the report claims Snow White is an “independent, liberal socialist” in the 2024’s live-action, a drastic change to the animated counterpart’s intentions which had her arc tied down to her love interest. Moreover, she along with the Bandits led a revolution against the Evil Queen. Zegler had also hinted in an interview with EW that Snow White would rather be shown “dreaming about becoming the leader”

In the case of the titular group, Unlike the Seven Dwarfs who were portrayed as mine workers, the Bandits are “like Robin Hood, they steal from the Queen to feed the poor” states MTTSH. Readers can check it out below.

Disney is yet to share a first-look teaser for Snow White so it remains to be seen if the new additions have changed the Disney Princess’ original story entirely. A preview of the live-action remake was showcased at D23 but with the project just wrapping up production earlier in July, a teaser trailer might not arrive anytime soon.

Similar to Little Mermaid, Snow White is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 22, 2024.
