Lobo Movie: Scriptwriter Might Take Inspiration From Original Comic Series

It looks like Warner Bros. Lobo movie could take inspiration from its original DC comic series. The film’s screenwriter recently hinted it while discussing his plans for the project.

Jason Fuchs revealed to LRM Online that Lobo would be different and acclaimed Comic book writer and artist Keith Giffen and Alan Grant.

“I think when you’re working on comic book characters, especially ones that are near and dear to my heart, like Wonder Woman and Lobo are, you want to create something that’s true to what the original text are. I think Wonder Woman really captures the feeling of — not only the original Moulton Marston comics, but the George Perez run in the late-80s. It feels like reading those comics up on the big screen. So for something like Lobo, without saying too much about it, it’ll feel, I imagine, quite different, because the Lobo comic itself is quite different. What Keith Giffen and Alan Grant put together was something really unique, and hopefully we’ll capture some of that same spirit when we make the movie.”

From the looks of it, Fuchs seems to be talking about the original mini-series Lobo: The Last Czarnian. It has been hailed as one of best comic series. for the anti-hero

Earlier this week, it also came to fans’ notice that Warner Bros. Lobo movie could tap Michael Bay as the director. Furthermore, it was also revealed that if the film was to be produced according to the current script, it would cost the studio upward $200 million.

So, it looks like Fuchs will engage in script rewrites for the solo film. But it seems like that won’t affect the project in any form since his current vision will still influence  The Last Czarnian series.
