On this weekend, The Walking Dead fans were treated to Adult Swim’s special segment “Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking.” The episode featured several fan-favorite characters, including Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jon Bernthal, Steven Yeun, Michael Rooker, Sarah Wayne Callies, Danai Gurira, Lennie James and others.
The parody shed light on Negan and his weapon, Lucille, the baseball bat. The special feature revealed that Lucille is not just a bat, it is sentient. The parody poked fun on Negan and how the bat has arrived from another world to protect the villain. The American stop-motion sketch comedy television series by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich explored Lucille’s backstory and talked about its dead parents.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Cinema Blend, the writers’ of the spoof discussed how the bat protected the villain from the bullet. Green said that the “bat clearly had a purpose, and its purpose was to save the day at that moment.”
Pop-culture news publication Comicbook explains Lucille was named after Negan’s late wife. As per the comic book, Lucille was a wooden baseball bat and its original owner has not been revealed. In the post-apocalypse world, Negan acquired the bat from an unknown source and added a barbed wire to it. He uses it to kill his enemies, humans and walkers both.
In The Walking Dead series, Lucille made its first appearance in Season 6 episode titled “Last Day on Earth.” Fans see Negan constantly with Lucille. Unfortunately, fan-favorite characters Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee became victims of Lucille.
The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres Oct. 22 on AMC. The premiere features the much-awaited 100th episode of the series titled “Mercy.” Earlier last week, a promo was also released which gave a glimpse of a slightly grown-up Judith. Rick Grimes and his group band together with the Kingdom and Hilltop to put up a fight against Negan and the Survivors. For more information and update, follow Pursue News on Facebook and Twitter.
