The Flash is once again making headlines but this time, alongside Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. A new movie preview rundown from Warner Bros. has made a startling revelation that General Zod (Michael Shannon) and his second-in-command, Faora (Antje Traue) are also part of the DC’s speedster standalone movie but no Superman.
The “hierarchy” of DC Cinematic Universe will soon change thanks to the multiverse narrative being introduced in The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti with Ezra Miller reprising his speedster role from Justice League.
It’s a known fact that the time-traveling “Flashpoint” comics’ inspired upcoming flick will introduce a new superhero donning the red cape through Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. And if Warner Bros. UK 2022 movie preview is believed to be true, then Supergirl will face Commander Zod and Faora from 2013’s Man of Steel. A brief description for The Flash movie is also included and states:
Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen, AKA The Flash, who pushes the limits of his superpowers in the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film.
Zod and Faora, the main villains from Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel were killed off by the end of the movie. Yet it seems like the two could appear either as a backstory for Supergirl or as a result of Barry Allen messing up the timeline.
Unfortunately, it also suggests the studio could retcon the origins of the original Superman played by Cavill. Disappointed fans are already sharing their frustration over WB’s choice in changing the DCEU narrative. Added, news of Michael Keaton playing as The Batman in Batgirl movie has all but confirmed the two big leads from DC’s trinity won’t be a part of the main continuity. Nonetheless, it’s only fuelled fans’ desire to see The Witcher actor back as Superman. Readers can check out their tweets below.
Who are they making these DC films for? Who's the target audience? People who loved Man Of Steel don't want to see Zod back because a major theme is his downfall

I wanna be completely honest, I know people might clown me, but I'm still gonna say it. Man of Steel is kinda like a comfort movie to me and the fact that they're gonna retcon it and ruin it makes me sad man pic.twitter.com/99DU1Esjph

Man of Steel is a virtually perfect Superman movie and yet they are going to retcon it with The Flash. WB deserves to tank as a company #RestoreTheSnyderVerse pic.twitter.com/wrqWpWwNTz

This Man of Steel slander just confirms how 1 dimensional these man’s creativity quirk works.

I'd love to believe that with Zod returning, The Flash changes the ending of Man of Steel to where Superman subdues him instead of killing him.
Anything to bring Henry Cavill back. pic.twitter.com/HpHXXRV0wc

That's the problem with The Flash's upcoming movie, isn't it? We trust Andy & Ezra. We don't trust WB.
I hope Andy has enough respect not to touch Man of Steel, but if WB forces him to retcon everything, then joke's on them because I won't stop treating MoS/BvS as DC royalty. pic.twitter.com/V1TRF3a0DF

Man of Steel can never be erased. Ever.
No matter what you think will happen in The Flash, the movie will still exist for you to watch, and unless all of Snyder's castings are replaced, his movies will remain the foundation of the DCEU no matter what anyone does.
Period. pic.twitter.com/2qpCfy2Jfl

The Flash also stars Ron Livington, Kiersey Clemons and Ben Affleck reprising as The Batman. Though the 49-year-old star won’t have a large presence in the film and will possibly be his last appearance as the Dark Knight.
The Flash is scheduled to release on November 4, 2022.
