‘Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is safe..’: DC Film fans divided as many call for full DCEU reboot erasing Peacemaker season 2 & more

Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn fans and folks waiting for Peacemaker season 2 seem to be locked horns with other DCEU fans that are hoping for James Gunn‘s DCU slate to completely wipe off the existing universe. Many argue that a soft DCEU reboot cannot be explored when Henry Cavill’s Superman has been canned for the sake of exploring a new iteration.

Gunn’s DC Bible is complete and all set to be announced at the start of 2023. While the label’s architect assured Superman is part of the DCU slate, he also revealed a shift in plans to focus on a younger version of the red-caped hero. Which soon prompted questions if the entire DC Extended Universe will be canned including 2021’s The Suicide Squad directed by Gunn.

Cavill’s exit has amplified harsher criticism from the DC Film fanbase with terms like ‘FireJamesGunn’ and ‘BoycottWB’ trending on Twitter. But among the many that have accepted DCEU’s fate are insisting Warner Bros. does not flesh out any other DCEU characters without Cavill’s Man of Steel. While another section of stans is hoping Robbie’s Dr. Harleen Quinzel survives the DCEU reboot.

James Gunn had plans for Harley Quinn before taking the DC Studios job

lately, Gunn has also faced nepotism criticism from a few claiming Jennifer Holland‘s Harcourt will be an integral part of DCU due to his power over the franchise. The director tied the knot to the Peacemaker star in October. To sum up, all eyes are on the DC characters brought to life under Gunn’s creative wing which includes Viola Davis‘ Amanda Waller.

Earlier in September, Gunn had teased Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn returning in the DCEU. Though it was prior to his hiring as DC Studios’ co-CEO and co-chairperson. Zachary Levi‘s Shazam future hangs on the same thread although there are some presumptions that Peter Safran‘s involvement in the franchise could save it from the reboot plans. These puzzling queries can only be answered by the DC Studios chief but it isn’t stopping the folks on social media from sounding off their thoughts. Readers can check it out below.

The only DC Film project possibly capable of dodging the DCEU reboot could be Blue Beetle. Some are hoping it could be the first title from the DC Bible slate with no inter-connected plot points to the DC Extended Universe. Meanwhile, development on Peacemaker season 2 was confirmed in February but no news on a potential release date.
