Lulu Skywalker, the character portrayed by Mark Hamill in the wildly popular Star Wars franchise met his fate in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The character first appeared in the Star Wars film Episode IV- A New Hope, which was released back in 1977. Since then a couple of Star Wars movies have been rolled out, the last being Star Wars: The Last Jedi, released on December 15, 2017.
Notably, fans have their own order of watching the Star Wars films. While some think they should watch the movies in the order of their release, others think it is the best option to start with the prequels is the way to go. In a recent interview, Mark Hamill talked about the order that people should follow while watching the Star Wars movies as per his opinion.
During an interview with Collider, Hamill said that in his opinion a newcomer to the Star Wars franchise should start with A New Hope and work their way from there.
“I always think … the way they were chronologically released,” Hamill said. “Now, I may be wrong, because if you’re starting out fresh, you probably go: one, two, three, four, five, six … uh, Rogue One? It’s hard, I mean, wait a second. Rouge One comes before four! Yeah, so you go: one, two, three, Rogue One, four, five, six, seven, eight … I’m guessing.”
In another interview with Cinema Blend, the Star Wars actor confessed that he is worried that the Star Wars franchise is fast approaching its saturation point. The actor said that he’s worried about Disney’s speed of making and releasing new Star Wars movies. He mentioned about the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story film which is coming out in just five months after Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
“I will say they should pace themselves because you don’t want to over-saturate it,” Hamill said. “I said to Disney, ‘Really? Five months after we come out, comes [Solo: A Star Wars Story]? Can’t you at least wait until Christmas?’ But they’ve got things booked – they’re doing Marvel and their own movies, so that’s beyond my [purview.]”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
