Now that a lot of reports regarding Wonder Woman 2 star cast have surfaced online, fans recently took to Twitter to begin a new debate on who will win the battle between Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Black Panther‘s fearsome Dora Milaje leader, Okoye played by Danai Gurira.
The battle, as imagined by Twitter users, would surely be an exciting one considering the fact that both the female warriors are highly-trained and well-equipped to fight any battle. It’s interesting to note that the debate was not only between Wonder Woman and Okoye fans but also between Marvel and DC fans. While some fans opined Wonder Women as the ultimate winner of the battle, some others remained to stick to their choice of Okoye.
Luckily, Marvel comic book writer Roxane Gay weighed in to settle the Wonder Woman vs. Okoye debate once and for all. Gay is the writer behind Marvel Comics’ Black Panther: World of Wakanda. She is also popular for her acclaimed novels and books such as Bad Feminist, Difficult Women, An Untamed State, and Hunger.
The comic writer almost ended the Twitter debate by saying that both Diana and Okoye are smart enough to not enter into any sort of battle. In fact, the two would rather work with each other than fight.
“Wonder Woman and Okoye wouldn’t fight,” Gay’s Twitter post read. “They would share intel and collaborate and mutually respect each other.”
Gay’s answer makes sense as both Diana’s and Okoye’s characters live in women-centric societies where they support each other instead of competing. You can check out the internet’s opinions on a Wonder Woman/Okoye fight below.
Gay recently offered to write a story for Warner Bros.’ planned Batgirl movie after Joss Whedon’s exit from the movie. She even got a response from Michele Wells, Vice-President of Content Strategy at DC Entertainment, to contact her for further discussion.
And let me be clear. They wouldn’t fight not because women don’t fight or some such nonsense but because they are smart and wouldn’t choose violence unless it was necessary.

*whispers*
Ain't nobody beating Wonder Woman's ass. She's in the same tier as Superman. The movies had her a little weaker, but the comics she's whooped up on Superman plenty'o'times
*end whisper*

There's a whole conversation about Wonder Woman vs Okoye on Twitter. I'm going to stay out of it (because I have shit to do lol), but keep in mind Wonder Woman could whip Superman's ass. Okoye ain't got nothing on WW.

If you think Okoye can beat Wonder Woman, clearly there’s no reason for us to be having this conversation..
