While Marvel Studios decided to skip San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Hall H this year, they did show up at the event to promote Avengers: Infinity War home video release. There’s no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War was a whopping big hit at the box office. But the film’s cliffhanger ending did upset quite a lot of fans who saw some of their favorite superheroes including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Star-Lord turn to ash because of Thano’s snap.
Well, for such Marvel fans, the film studio had a great setup at SDCC event where they conducted GroupHug therapy sessions for people still reeling from Thanos’s snap. There were the giant Hulk hands offering people protection for the photo-op. The grief station also gave free donuts as well as bracelets and t-shirts saying “Spared By Thanos.”
The area was filled with Infinity War-themed inspirational posters and special merchandise. In fact, the attendees were also shown an exclusive Avengers: Infinity War deleted scene that others won’t get to see until the Blu Ray release in August. Actor Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in Marvel Cinematic Universe, also popped up at the event to join the fans for a group hug.

Notably, Mad Titan Thanos was all over the SDCC in the form of a life-size LEGO statue and a big one-sheet SDCC special Avengers: Infinity War poster. Thanos’ LEGO statue is about 8-and-a-half feet tall and contains 91,350 bricks and weighs 450 pounds.
Talking about the poster drawn up by MCU veteran Ryan Meinerding, it shows Thanos sitting quietly and watching the sunrise on a grateful universe after he’s successful in destroying half of the world’s population using the Infinity Gauntlet.
“The hardest choices require the strongest wills,” the poster reads.
Thanos will be back in again in the next Avengers 4 film which is currently set to release on May 3, 2019.
At Comic-Con this weekend, @MarvelStudios had a special area for fans who are still trying to cope with the ending of #AvengersInfinityWar – it included encouraging posters and a room for #GroupHug therapy sessions!
