Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Aquaman has already won a lot of hearts and the long list includes some big names including Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige.
During an interview with Vulture‘s Kyle Buchanan at the Golden Globes Awards 2019 event, Feige confessed that he loved watching Aquaman and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Buchanan took to Twitter to reveal the same.
“Just spoke to Marvel’s Kevin Feige, who loved INTO THE SPIDERVERSE and AQUAMAN, the latter of which he finally caught yesterday. “They really went for it!”” Buchanan’s Twitter post read. You can check out the post below.
Aquaman is expected to surpass the $1 billion mark very soon. The film has officially become the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe movie of all time. As of January 5, it has already grossed $887 million at the global box office worldwide, snatching the title of highest-grossing DC film from 2016’s Batman v Superman, which bagged $873 million during its entire run. Surprisingly, the film’s biggest market is China, where it has broken records to earn more than $260 million.
Thrilled and happy about Aquaman’s global success, actor Jason Momoa recently took to Instagram to thanks his fans for their love and support. He posted a new video in which he thanked fans for making Aquaman the number one movie in the world. He also encouraged fans to see it a second time.
“Mahalo everyone for making Aquaman the number one movie in the world,” Momoa captioned the Instagram video post. “I love you guys. I’m so proud of this movie and everyone that worked on it CHEEEEEHUUUUUUUU Aloha.”
While Warner Bros. is yet to formally announce a sequel, the studio has now turned all the focus on the franchise’s next superhero comic book release Shazam!, which is set to arrive in theaters on April 5, 2019.
Aquaman is currently playing in theaters everywhere.
