Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will be back with Season 6. The show will be beginning its production this week.
For a long time, future of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD remained uncertain. Rumors were that ABC’s Marvel series might be canceled after five seasons due to low ratings. Recently, however, the show was officially renewed and the network ordered for a smaller Season 6 consisting of 13 episodes.
Meanwhile, it is confirmed that the show will soon start filming. In a recent Instagram post by Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennet, who plays the role of Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, the actress revealed the big news. For reasons unknown, the actress’ post is now deleted.
According to MCUExchange, she posted a picture of herself in bed with the message that read: “Last Friday before we begin shooting season 6. Daisy Johnson, I’m coming for ya.”
Agents of SHIELD will not be returning this fall. According to the recent reports, the series is not only shortened but will also be held up until next summer. This means Season 6 will not debut until the summer of 2019 after the release of fourth Avengers movie.
The show’s early production schedule has raised several questions. Media outlets are speculating some changes for the sixth season which will release almost after a year.
Agents of SHIELD Season 5 ended on a big note. The agents defeated the big bad by changing the timeline and prevented the Earth from the irreversible disaster. Simmons headed to Enoch’s ship to find Fitz in stasis. And Coulson and May head out to spend their last days in Tahiti.
It is hard to say what will happen next on the show but speculations suggest that the show is expected to tie into the yet-to-be-titled fourth Avengers movie.
