Marvel Studios’ Black Widow movie has been gaining quite the attention lately since a Hollywood gossip site put out a report stating the solo title would be the studios’ first attempt at an R-Rated movie. In any case, though Marvel is yet to confirm this rumor, the project is expected to begin principal photography this February.
According to Film Magazine Production Weekly’s recent listing, Black Widow will begin production late February. An earlier report from Omega Underground had stated the date as February 28.
The listing also reveals that filming will begin in the United Kingdom and will go for a period of 3 months and is expected to wrap in Mid-May.
From the looks of it, Fans may be in for some casting announcements in February. Though the Black Widow movie is currently Marvel’s top priority, the studio has been keeping details related to the project in wraps.
Black Widow will be directed by Cate Shortland from a script penned by Jac Schaeffer. Currently, Scarlett Johansson is the only actor listed in the cast list.
Black Widow possibly may be Marvel’s first move at an R-rated movie. but the gossip site that shared the news also states other details behind the studios’ move which sounds depressing.
According to Crazy Days & Nights, “if the experiment goes horribly wrong they have a woman to blame for it which is what this studio wanted.” As inaccurate this may sound, the gossip site has a track record and they have got stories right in the past such as Chris McQuarrie and Tom Cruise rumors relating to Green Lantern Corps.
Production Weekly’s earlier listings also shared a synopsis for the movie. You can check it out below but readers are advised to take the news with a grain of salt as it remains unconfirmed and also argued by journalists such as Jeremy Conrad to be inaccurate.
“At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.”
Black Widow movie does not have a release date assigned yet. But the film is expected to release sometime in 2020.
