Earlier last month, right around the finale of Marvel’s Runaways season 1, Hulu surprised fans by announcing that the series has been renewed for a 13 episode Season 2. Now, it looks like the streaming network is all set to begin production.
According to Production Weekly, Marvel’s Runaways will begin Principle Photography this year in late April. Season 2 will reportedly be filmed in Los Angeles. Furthermore, the series will be filmed under the same working title “RUGRATS”.
The filming of Season 2 is expected to wrap in September. A release date for Season 2 is yet to be revealed.
Marvel’s Runaways Season 1 filming was wrapped by the end of October 2017 and fans were treated with its release on November 21st. If Season 2’s filming is to wrap in September, it is possible that it will be released earlier than Season 1.
Season 1 finale left fans with more questions as the story ended with a cliffhanger. A lot is expected to be answered in Season 2 and provide fans details on the main plot.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz teased some info on what is to be expected of the upcoming season.
The showrunners confirmed that the hostel where the Runaways choose as a hideout, an important element from the comics will be brought to life in Season 2. Although Savage did mention that the design was still to be figured out, it seems like everything is falling into place for Season 2 to begin filming late April this year.
“Next season is going to be an exciting new paradigm and new show for us to tackle,” said Schwartz.
So it looks like fans can expect the series to go in a different path from Season 1. Stay Tuned with Pursue News for more updates on Marvel’s Runaways and other Marvel TV shows.
