Marvel’s The Eternals seems to be on track with its scheduled production for this September as the filmmakers are in the process of negotiating with actors for roles in the MCU project.
The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez exclusively broke the report that actress Salma Hayek is currently being eyed for an undisclosed role in Marvel’s The Eternals. Details about the character is currently being kept under wraps. Hayek recently appeared in “How To Be a Latin Lover” and “The Hitman’s Bodyguard”.
Earlier this week, we learnt that the working title for Marvel’s The Eternals is seemingly a reference to the popular sitcom Seinfeld. And the filmmakers are also in the process of hiring other production artists as well.
Marvel’s The Eternals will be helmed by “The Rider” director Chloe Zhao from a script penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
So far, Angelina Joie, Richard Madden, Dong-soek Ma and Kumail Nanjiani have been reported to have been signed on to play lead roles.
It seems like fans can expect to hear more regarding the project this July at San Deigo Comic-con. Marvel Studios is likely to give fans a glimpse at their upcoming films from Phase 4 during the Hall H panel. The studio is yet to officially announce Marvel’s The Eternals.
According to Production Weekly, the synopsis goes: “The story of The Eternals is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants. The two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race. The story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes in moving amongst humans.”
Marvel’s The Eternals is rumored to have a release date set for November 6th, 2020.
