MCU fans react to Spider-Man: No Way Home poster revealing Green Goblin, Sandman & other multiverse characters

A new poster embracing the multiverse narrative in Spider-Man: No Way Home has got MCU fans sounding off on social media. Surprisingly, it offers the first look at Green Goblin and Doctor Octavius’ mechanical arms, outright confirming their appearances in the threequel. But it seems more characters from the original franchise will also have their presence, or at least according to theories floating around so far.

Just weeks after the first trailer’s release, Sony Pictures has unveiled a new poster as part of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s promotions. Aside from the big two supervillain’s reveal, a closer look suggests that the wave of Sand around Doc Oc’s arm is in fact Alfred Molina’s Sandman. Moreover, the lightning striking above Spidey is also being speculated as a hint to none other than Jamie Foxx’s electro from the Amazing Spider-Man universe.

Marvel fans’ dissent has already got Spider-Man: No Way Home trending on Twitter. Some essentially see it as a sign of Tobey Maguire’s role in the upcoming movie. Meanwhile, even Tom Holland has responded to the new promo material’s release. You can check out the reactions below.

It must be noted that Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige earlier cautioned fans against keeping expectations high with the rampant wild rumors. “Rumors are fun, because many of them are true, and many of them are not true,” the producer said in October. He added, “The danger is when you get into the expectations game of wanting people to be excited about the movie they get, and not disappointed about a movie they don’t get.”

It still remains to be seen if Andrew Garfield has a role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So far, the star has shattered hopes stating he is not part of the project.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17th.
