‘MCU has to drop Jonathan Majors Kang’ – Creed 3 star’s alleged abuse victims report has MCU fans cast doubt on villain’s appearance in Loki season 2, compare actor to Ezra Miller & more

MCU’s Kang star Jonathan Majors‘ acting career has been in jeopardy since his arrest on strangulation charges in March. However, the latest development which states several alleged abuse victims have come forward is being considered as the nail in the coffin to the Creed 3 actor’s journey in Hollywood by Marvel fans with many wondering what becomes of his villain role in the upcoming Loki season 2 for Disney Plus.

From being dropped by his management team, Entertainment 360 & PR agency Lede Company to losing roles in upcoming projects like The Man in My Basement feature based on the Walter Mosley novel – Jonathan Majors’ fall from the grace has been all over the news. In addition, Variety‘s report on 19 April details several women alleging abuse by Majors are currently “cooperating with Manhattan district attorney’s office”.

Majors’ public reputation is at an all-time low following the recent multiple abuse allegation report surfacing online. The actor’s fans as well as Marvel aficionados have cast doubt on his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang. However, the bigger concern lies in how Marvel Studios would respond, especially with the 33-year-old set to appear in Loki season 2 which is expected to arrive on Disney Plus in mid-2023.

The trade report also revealed “Disney is monitoring the fast-moving situation” but fans assume Marvel Studios would likely avoid responding to developing controversy until Loki season 2’s release.

The Internet compares Jonathan Majors’ situation to Ezra Miller’s and points out the hypocrisy

Meanwhile, while there is a growing backlash for Majors – the masses on the internet have called out the hypocrisy in Hollywood over the failure to hold Ezra Miller accountable for his crimes, while a POC actor’s career is already on the line. The Flash movie star faced grooming allegation charges and an arrest in Hawaii for disorderly conduct along with a sleeve of other questionable behaviors.

Following an apology statement & claiming mental health issues – WBD’s DC Studios is proceeding with the release of the Ezra Miller starrer speedster feature. It’s unclear if Marvel Studios could opt for a similar option for Loki season 2. Nonetheless, it’s starting to look like the PR damage is irredeemable. Readers can check the reactions below.

Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry has denied the allegations saying, “Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

The PR situation for the Ant-Man 3 titular star worsened after March 30 when text message exchanges between Majors and his unnamed girlfriend were released. While it was expected to exonerate his image – it was quite the opposite.

It remains to be seen how Marvel Studios could proceed as even insiders and journalists are puzzled over the Kang actor’s future in MCU. With the setup of Kang Dynasty in Quantumania – some fans are already pitching for Marvel to pivot to the Doom storyline though most from the fandom believe the role will be replaced with another actor of the same caliber. Majors is expected to return for Avengers: Kang Dynasty which is poised to roll cameras in 2024 spring.
